Nirupama Agrawal

Nirupama Agrawal earned her Master's degree in Zoology and thereafter her PhD and DSc from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow. Starting her career as a lecturer in 1976, she is at present the Head of the Department of Zoology in the University of Lucknow. Actively associated with teaching and research, she has more than 120 research papers published in leading Indian and overseas journals. Her field of interest includes systematics and taxonomy of Monogenoidea. As a visiting research associate, Agrawal worked in the laboratory of Mary Bevereley-Burton at the Department of University of Guelph, Canada in (1994-95). She has attended several international symposia on Monogenoidea including those of former Czechoslovakia (1988, 1997), France (1993), Australia (2001), South Africa (2003) and China (2005). An active member of several scientific societies, Agrawal was elected President, Section of Animal, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences of ISCA in 2003.
