Inder K. Chaku
Inder K. Chaku, born in Srinagar Kashmir 1940, during the reign of the Dogra rulers. He also shifted with his father to Delhi where he completed his schooling. He returned to Kashmir to further his education. His passion for the place made him stay in the Valley, where he took up a job with the Government Media in 1966. There he dealt with live art. It became the gateway for him to imbibe the theatre and music and culture of the valley. Official engagements brought him back to Delhi and he stayed in Delhi from 1970 to 1990. However, the yearning to live at birthplace did not diminish in him and that resulted many visits to the Valley. In the year 1990, Inder K. Chaku was deputed to head the Media Office in Srinagar. His dream to spend rest of his life in Kashmir shattered when he had to join the stream of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley. He shifted back to Jammu and then to Delhi along with other migrants and has lived there ever since.
