Gaz Bisht is an energy executive who serves on the board of a UK-listed company. After graduating from the Indian Institutes of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad and IIT Delhi, he emigrated to Australia in the early ’90s, and later spent several years in Asia—in Jakarta, Indonesia in the mid-1990s and in Beijing, China, in the mid-2000s, witnessing firsthand the working styles of these governments and the role they played in the extraordinary growth of these countries. Professor J S Rajput began his professional career as a researcher in physics, then transitioned to education and teacher education. He has made significant contributions to educational research and educational administration. Professor Rajput completes fifty years of full Professorship in 2024 and continues to work actively in education, social cohesion, and religious amity. He is the author of several well-known books in Hindi and English, including Education of Muslims in India (2015), Dynamics of Indian Education (2019), Gandhi Ko Samjhane Ka Yahi Samay (2020), Bhartiya Sanskriti ke Alok mein Shiksha (2022), Bhartiya Virasat aur Vaishvik Samasyayen (2024), besides others. He headed NCERT, NCTE, Bal Bhavan Society of India, and was India’s Representative on the UNESCO Executive Board. He is a Padma Shri Awardee, and the recipient of the Jan Amos Medal, awarded by UNESCO.
