Education for a New World Order examines the transformative potential of India’s New Education Policy (NEP-2020), now gaining momentum almost four years later. Drawing from India’s ancient Gurukul system, Rajput critiques the current education model, advocating a serious need for transformation and a shift from rote learning to a creative, problem-solving approach. He envisions an education system that seamlessly blends digital innovation and traditional wisdom while focusing on sustainable development. The book presents a comprehensive roadmap for reform that effectively addresses the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and envisions a future aligned with Vision 2047. With insights from Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore, this book is a call for action for educators and policy makers, highlighting the NEP 2020’s roots in post-Independence experiential learning and its futuristic assessment of the world emerging in the twenty-first century.

About the Author

Professor J S Rajput began his professional career as a researcher in physics, then transitioned to education and teacher education. He has made significant contributions to educational research and educational administration. Professor Rajput completes fifty years of full Professorship in 2024 and continues to work actively in education, social cohesion, and religious amity. He is the author of several well-known books in Hindi and English, including Education of Muslims in India (2015), Dynamics of Indian Education (2019), Gandhi Ko Samjhane Ka Yahi Samay (2020), Bhartiya Sanskriti ke Alok mein Shiksha (2022), Bhartiya Virasat aur Vaishvik Samasyayen (2024), besides others. He headed NCERT, NCTE, Bal Bhavan Society of India, and was India’s Representative on the UNESCO Executive Board. He is a Padma Shri Awardee, and the recipient of the Jan Amos Medal, awarded by UNESCO.
