G V Subba Rao has an MPhil in English literature and is the author of two novels, No Murder Tonight and The Missed Beat. Both novels have been bestsellers on online portals. His debut novel was launched by Padmabhushan Dr Kamal Hassan in 2015. Subba Rao is the son of Sri Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, an Indian actor, screenwriter and dialogue writer celebrated for his contributions to Telugu films and theatre. The Last Witness is his third book.
