Manasi Gokhale

Manasi Gokhale juggles between being a mother of three young children and working a full time job with ease. She works as Accounts Manager with a growing network of medical imaging services. Prior to that, Manasi served as Managing Editor of a pioneering South Asian publication in Houston. She holds a Masters degree in Public health as well as a Masters in Healthcare administration. Dancing is her passion and she enjoys participating in cultural events.

C T Indra

C T Indra taught at the University of Madras (1976-2008) and served as Professor and Head of the English Department from 1995 to 2007. She was also Chair of the School of English and Foreign Languages for some time. She was a Fulbright post-doctoral Fellow at Harvard University (1980-81) and American Research Fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara (1990). Her publications in the area of translation include The Legend of Nandan (OUP, 2003, Indira Parthasarathy's Tamil play Nandan Kathai), Indira Parthasarathy's Three Plays, with T Sriraman (Authors Press 2019), Cross Section, in collaboration with Prema Jagannathan (Sahitya Akademi 2014, P Sivakami's Tamil novel Kurukku Vettu), translation of critical articles by P Sivakami and Thenmozhi, jointly with Meenakshi Hariharan in Oxford Anthology of Tamil Dalit Writings (OUP, 2012), Internal Colloquies (trans. from Tamil into English of selected poems of Thamizhachi Thangapandian's Vanapechi, Rubric Publishing, 2019) and The Solitary Sprout, Selected Stories of R Chudamani with T Sriraman (Orient BlackSwan 2019). With R Rajagopalan she has contributed to and edited Language, Culture and Power: English-Tamil in Modern India: 1900 CE-Present Day and Culture, Language and Identity: English-Tamil in Colonial India: 1750-1900 (London: Routledge, 2018) a British Council project.

Prema Jagannathan

Prema Jagannathan is an Associate Professor of English (retired) and former Dean of Academic Affairs, Stella Maris College, Chennai. Her areas of interest include Indian Fiction, Bhakti Literature, Translation Studies and Communicative English. She is the author of The Mahabharata and Contemporary Indian Fiction, published by Prestige Books, New Delhi (2010). She has translated a few short stories, plays and non-fictional works from Tamil into English and vice versa. A few to name are translation of P Sivakami's Kurukku Vettu along with CT Indra, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi (2014) and translation of S Ramakrishnan's Urulum Paaraikal in Four Tamil Plays published by Orient BlackSwan and Stella Maris College 2014. Among her published work is also the Key to JC Nesfield's English Grammar and Composition, co-authored by Sharada Bhanu and published by Macmillan India.
